Don Fohey (University Lowbrow Astronomers) discussed how he built a digital setting circle. For the encoder interface electronics, he used the Interface for Digital Setting Circles by David Ek. For the positioning controller he used A Digital Setting Circle Program for Palm OS by Doug Braun. For more information see the following web sites:

(3) Viewing of a DVD entitled “A Sidewalk Astronomer.”
Nathan Murphy (University Lowbrow Astronomers) showed the club a DVD entitled “A Sidewalk Astronomer” that highlighted John Dobson, the inventor of the Dobsonian Telescope. (For more information about the Sidewalk Astronomers, an organization co-founded by John Dobson see Website).
