Speaker: Jeff Kopmanis, Lowbrow Online Coordinator
Location: Detroit Observatory, UM Central Campus, 7:30pm
Astrophotography is a broad and deep topic in astronomy and with the advent of much more capable equipment and software at constantly falling prices, it has been a growing and popular corner of astronomy today. However, all of these advancements come with increased complexity so that “running your rig” in the dark hours of the night becomes frought with mistakes and missed proceedures. Utilizing a computer to automate the various processes in taking quality photos of the night skies can be accomplished without trading in your car or severing a limb to the loan officer! Jeff will outline his journey and present a cost-effective path to automate astrophotography processes.
The monthly Lowbrow meeting will follow the presentation, and a video of the presentation and the meeting will be posted on YouTube over the weekend.
