The Lowbrows will be treated to a planetarium/pizza meeting come Friday, July 21st at 7:30pm at the annual “Art Fair Avoidance” meeting here at EMU, but an FYI… we’ll be demonstrating the new Digitalis Lambda projector system we recently installed, and then walking to Sherzer Observatory. The sunset, at 9:04pm, is also pretty with our library and St. Joseph Hospital in the foreground viewed from the deck. If the weather cooperates (this is Michigan), we’ll try to do some observing at Sherzer.
Parking
The demo and club meeting are free and open to the public, but paid parking is available in the green “Paid Visitor Parking” lot on the SW corner of our campus off Oakwood and Washtenaw Ave just west of the famous Ypsi water tower (See the Map link below), and the MJeff building entered through the so-called Bridge Entrance. You’ll know when you see it. Park anywhere else and you risk a ticket despite empty lots nearer. The planetarium is on the 4th floor, elevators to the right from the atrium area. Look up from the edge of the railing and you see the Sphere several floors up!
